Concern answered by laser hair removal
Unwanted body hair
Hair is treated by our laser division, area by area. Most people see visible reduction after two to three sessions, within a course of six to eight.
What is actually happening?
Terminal hair, the thick pigmented kind that replaces fine vellus hair after puberty, appears where hormones tell follicles to produce it. How much of it you have is largely genetic, and it varies widely by ancestry. That is normal variation, not a condition.
Some patterns do have a medical driver worth knowing about. Androgens, particularly testosterone, regulate hair growth in patients of every gender, and levels shift through puberty, pregnancy, the menstrual cycle, and menopause. Polycystic ovary syndrome affects 5 to 10 percent of women of reproductive age, and published research finds that 70 to 80 percent of women with PCOS experience excess hair growth, which makes it the most frequent medical cause. Anabolic steroids, corticosteroids, and some hormone therapies can also increase growth.
Where a plan starts depends on the area rather than on the reason. Underarms are short appointments and the most common starting point. Legs, back, and chest take longer and are usually planned as a series across several visits. If a hormonal driver seems likely, that is worth raising with your provider, since it changes what maintenance looks like later.
How does Choosi answer it?
How the laser reaches the follicle
Light is absorbed by melanin, the pigment inside the hair, and converts to heat that disables the follicle. The Candela GentleMax Pro carries two wavelengths so the match can be made to your skin: 755 nm Alexandrite for lighter tones, and 1064 nm Nd:YAG, which reaches past the melanin-rich surface layer, for medium and deeper tones. Cryogen cools the skin immediately before each pulse. More detail is on technology and skin types and safety.
A plan set before you pay for a series
Your consultation covers skin type, hair color and texture, health history, and medications, then a patch test confirms the settings on your skin rather than on a chart. Only after that does your provider set areas, session count, spacing, and cost in writing. The full arc is on how it works, and package prices are published on pricing.
Area by area, and what the result actually is
Underarms, legs, bikini and Brazilian, back and chest, and full body each have their own page with their own session guidance. Shave before a session and avoid waxing or plucking during your series, since the laser needs the root intact. What laser delivers is long-term reduction, not guaranteed permanent removal, and individual results vary. Men's grooming has its own path at laser hair removal for men.

Asked about body hair
When will I see a difference?
Most people see visible reduction after two to three sessions, with further reduction following each one after that. A full course is typically six to eight sessions spaced four to six weeks apart, and individual results vary.
Can I treat more than one area at once?
Yes, and most plans do. Each area is a separate service at its own price, so a plan covering underarms, legs, and bikini is quoted as a whole at your consultation rather than assembled from guesswork.
Is it appropriate for darker skin?
Yes. The 1064 nm Nd:YAG wavelength passes beyond the melanin-rich outer layer, which is what makes treatment appropriate across the Fitzpatrick scale. If you have been told before that you were not a candidate, the patch test at your consultation answers that question for your skin specifically.
Every area has its own session count and its own price. The consultation puts the whole plan in front of you first.
